I have to attend trade shows for work. Can I deduct getting my hair and nails done before each show?

No - If you just had your hair and nails done for personal reasons, such as you wanted to look presentable at the trade work, then these will be non-deductible personal expenses.

However, if you are in the business of hair and nail styling or products and you are presenting yourself to show your work in this field, then you could claim the expenses as part of your self- employment business expenses.
