I have Premier that I share with family. It says it should have 5 free federal files, however, when I enter the license code, it says license is used with another acct?

How can I download this?  We did not go through 5 federal files.  Do they have to be under the same Intuit account?  B/c I am using my own Intuit acc and not my family.

Do you mean when you install the program on another computer?   You can install Turbo Tax on 5 computers you own.  Yes you have to install them all using your account.  But you don't have to efile each return using the same account.

Ok, so use the same intuit account to download the software … up to 5 different computers?   Then, we file under our own individual intuit accounts.  Is this correct ?

Yes. At the end when you file the return.  But don't get accidentally into the Online version instead of the Desktop program.  That can happen.

What if I used the online version? Does that mean I can not share?

The TurboTax online editions can only be used for one tax return per account and User ID.  If you want to start another tax return using the online editions you will need to create a new account with a new User ID.

The Online web version is totally different the the Desktop CD/Download program.  Online is only good for 1 return per account.  And the fee structure is different than the Desktop fees.  Don't confuse the Online version with going online to download the Desktop program.  That's not the same thing.
