I have not the income to even pay taxes, although I have filed anyway do I still need to file. I haven't paid since 2007.

I do not have enough income to pay taxes. But, I file anyway my situations will not change. I have continued to file since 2007. Do I need to continue filing?

You are not required to file if you make less than your standard deduction and exemption combined.

For a single filer, that threshold is $10,350  ($6300 standard deduction plus $4050 exemption)

Two exceptions:

1) you had taxes withheld that should be refunded

2) you had 1099-MISC income of $400 or more
