I have farm rental income and I do participate. I have used the form 4835 for years to deduct my vehicle expense checking on the condition of the farm and coordinate with the farmer.
It seems so simple to me that if Turbo Tax would have a selection: Farm Operation for Form F, or Farm Rental for Form 4835.
What version of TurboTax are you using, @augiedeg? Most TurboTax versions list a business topic for Farm Income and Farm Rental. The first question has options for either "operating a farm" or "payments from farm rental." Depending on the choice made here, the program directs you through the entries needed to complete either Form 4835 or Schedule F.
