I have duplicate coverage for 1095-A and 1095-C and what should I report?

I have 1095-A stating that I have coverage from June - Dec 2017. When I find a job in August 2017 and have the employer insurance covered since. Situation is I tried to cancel the policy from the market place in August 2017 but the lady from marketplace fails to cancel the policy and causing the policy to stay there for the rest of the year. Now, I have duplicate policy and what should I do?? do I just report from June to August from 1095-A??

You have to report form 1095-A just as you received it, i.e. form June to December as you have received the advance premium credit in column (c) of form 1095-A.

The fact that you had double coverage from August to December does not affect the calculation of your premium tax credit or whether you have to pay back part of your advance premium credit.

But the duplicate coverage WOULD affect a self-employed deduction for health insurance, correct? Since you could only claim the deduction for months where you are not eligible for an employer plan?  In that case would you still report the 1095-A as provided? Or omit the months in which you received employer-based health care?
