I have been divorced for several years do i file single or divorced

Last year I selected the answer single, I don’t understand why I didn’t choose divorce. Now I’m confused.

"Divorced" is not a filing status.  If you are the custodial parent with dependent children living with you, then you can file as Head of Household, or if no kids, you file as Single.
