I have asked a couple of times now what "alternative minimum tax" is. I know what it is, but what I don't know is where do I find that figure.

Where exactly, or how, do I come up with what this figure is or should be?

See Form 1040 Line 45 for your AMT.

There you will discover that Form 6251 shows the calculations and will be attached to your tax return.

I used Turbo Tax to generate the 2015 1040. Turbo Tax did not generate AMT (Form 6251) and line 40 in form 1040 is empty. How do I make Turbo tax to calculate AMT and output Form 6251. I need a response urgently
