If this is the type of PWCA benefits you received, then this would be taxable as ordinary income and you would enter it by selecting"

  • Federal
  • Income
  • Income from Form 1099-Misc under Other Common Income
  • After you enter the 1099-Misc, select none of these apply
  • on the next screen where it asks is the work like your main job, answer no
  • Continue through and then when asked if it involved intent to earn money answer no

This is basically a way to pay you the excess fringe dollars without them being subjected to FICA taxes.

Yes! This is the type I received. There are federal taxes withheld. I will try this way. The last time the system showed errors when submitting this way but I’ll try again and come back if i have additional questions. Thank you!

If you had taxes withheld, you will need to click the box that says My form has other info in boxes 1-18 and then enter the taxes withheld in box 4.  Do not enter 0 in any boxes that are blank or have 0's as this will cause errors.
