I need to get back and finish my 2018 tax returns
My standard deduction shows $26200.00 in stead of $24000.00. How do I correct this and why is it this high?
Did you mean 27,200? You get an extra 1,300 for each spouse 65 or older.

For 2018 the standard deduction amounts are:
Single 12,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind
HOH 18,000 + 1,600 for 65 and over or blind
Joint 24,000+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind
Married filing Separate 12,000 + 1,300 for 65 and over or blind
