I have a full-time job for an employer, I had a 1-time sell of some stocks, and I have a part-time contract job. How do I tell which tax software package I need?

For the most part, I am an employee. If I made $50k from my employer, I might make $10k from my contract work and another $10k from selling stocks.

You can use any version of the CD/download product because they all have all the forms you need. If you want the most guidance to help your complete your return, you should get the Home & Business version.

If you use the online product, you must use the Self Employed version because it is the only one with Schedule C which is required for your part time contract job if income from it is reported on a 1099-MISC or no form.

Yay for you, but I needed this information BEFORE taxes were due, months ago on April 15th. So, your answer was worthless to me.
