I have 1099 NEC, do I have to file schedule C if no expense?

Have 1099 NEC income, no expenses, is schedule C required?

Yes, you have to file a Schedule C for the 1099-NEC you received.  You may use TurboTax Delux to file your Schedule C when you do not have any expenses.

 

To enter your 1099-NEC  in TurboTax follow these steps:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Search for schedule c and click the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your self-employment information.
