I had to make a tax payment to the IRS. How do I get a receipt for that payment?

I scheduled the payment using the direct deposit option.

The IRS does not issue receipts for tax payments.

It depends on how you paid the taxes owed.  You will have a cancelled check if paid by check with a payment voucher.  Or if you requested direct debit from your bank account, a debit on your bank statement.  Or if you paid by credit card, a payment on your credit card statement.

I made payment  my taxes 2020 by credit  card.  I did receive confirmation  but I don't  have receipt

@Maria 29   Your proof is the payment on your credit card statement.
