I had health coverage from Jan - June 2016 through my parents company insurance . I turned 26 in June and purchased insurance through the Affortable care act. I did receive a 1095A for Sept - Dec. Should I check that I had coverage all year and check co

No, you do need to select that you were not covered for two months, July and August.  However, you do have an exception for this on the tax return, which is called a short coverage gap exception.  Since you were in "transition" for those two months, you will not have to pay any penalty.  This FAQ will reassure you that TurboTax will assist you to get this right on your return:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4234967
