I had a tax professional prepare my taxes last year because I purchased a solar solution for home. How do I ensure I receive the rest of my solar tax credit?

In my tax return for 2015, my tax person put us as having a federal carryover (to 2016) of ~4,000 dollars thanks to the solar tax credit.  I'm just curious if there is anything I need to do to in order to get the rest, for this tax year (2016)

Yes, you'll need to enter your credit carryover. To do so:

  1. Login and click Take me to my return
  2. Click Federal Taxes tab and then Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to the section that says Your Home and click Show more
  4. Then select Start or Revisit next to Home Energy Credits
  5. Answer the questions to enter your credit.
