I had a 2 month transcription side job which i made $497. Not sure how to claim it on my taxes? I received no forms.

I made under $500 from a 2 month side job I am no longer doing. Not sure if I claim as self employment? If so, do I add the company name I did the work for? I received no forms. I was paid through paypal, do I list that as the "type of income"? Very confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you would report that as self-employment income. You'd report your $497 as General Business Income, because you didn't get a 1099 for it. If you had any expenses for this income, you can deduct them as business expenses, and you would need  TurboTax Self-Employed to report them.

Thank you for your fast response. Can I not use the Deluxe, only Self Employment?

Yes, You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.  Or any of the Desktop programs.  But you will get the most help in the Home & Business version.
