I got divorced this year. Do I need to create a new account and, if so, will Turbo Tax be able to use past tax returns for losses, etc. that pertain to me individually?

If you are now divorced, you will need to start  new online account and start from scratch.   If you try to use an account that has previously been used for joint returns, it will be very messy and you will end up with errors; it is too hard to remove all of the "spouse stuff" that will still be there.   Your new filing status will be single or, if you are the custodial parent of the children perhaps head of household.

Since you are creating a new account, TurboTax will not be able to access prior year returns to automatically enter information that might have been carried forward had you continued to use the same account. You will have to look at your prior year returns to get that information and manually enter it.
