I got divorced last year. Can my ex-wife and I both use this turbotax account to file our taxes or does one of us need to start from scratch?

In the CD/Download version of TurboTax, you can prepare as many federal returns as you want. Up to five can be e-filed.

 

Additional returns must be printed and mailed.

 

You can also use TurboTax Online or the mobile app to prepare multiple returns, but each return requires its own unique login and must be paid for separately (if the return doesn't qualify for Free Edition). 

 

Most customers who need to file separate returns for family members find that the CD/Download version is more economical.

Hi!  I find that it is easier to start from scratch.  As the last person replied, you have 5 returns on one product but that isn't really the issue.  When my daughter got divorced, I tried to use the original one for one of them and I ran into some snags.  So much to delete and change.  Better to start over 🙂 Then you have a clean slate to begin with.  I wish you the best.  L
