I got CA refund from 2019. I input that refund amount in this year tax and TurboTax said it is not taxable after filled in the numbers from 2019. is it possible? Thanks.

The first question to see about it is taxable or not is
"Is box from line 5A from my 2019 Schedule checked or not. "
And I answered "no" since it was not checked.
Then, it asked me "Enter the amount of State and local tax paid". I am not sure how can I get that number from. TurboTax didn't specifically say where to get that number for that question.
Should I enter the number from line 5A from Schedule A from my 2019 return?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you should.

All or a portion of your California refund may be taxable as you itemized your deductions last year and claimed your state income taxes withheld and some were later refunded when you filed your California state tax return.
