I get the message "TurboTax 2017 quit unexpectedly" when I try to open my password protected file. A new, non-password protected file that I created opens fine.

My sister also has a non-password protected file on this same laptop and hers opens fine as well. But when I try to open my in-progress password-protected file, TurboTax crashes.

I am running a Mac OS 10.11.6, Mid 2015 model.

I know some people say that uninstalling and then re-installing TurboTax helps, but I don't want to affect my sister's file if that isn't the problem.

Thank you for any help!

[Edit] I have attached the crash report.

Kindly edit this post & attach the crash report. You can find crash report by similar name "TurboTax 2017_2018-03-14-173431_YOUR_MACHINE_NAME.crash" at this path i.e. ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports.

Click on Finder and click on "Go" Menu and select "Go To Folder..." option. Type above mentioned path and press "Go" button.

Kindly rename crash report and remove your machine name from same.
