I found out my employer had me down for too many allowances. I never filled out a W4 form so doesnt that mean I should automatically be put down as single claiming 0?

You can't go back and change the past. File updated withholding forms with your employer to correct any future underpayments, but you're on the hook for the underpayment this year.
