I filed my 2023 taxes with the desktop app, while logged into my account. When I login to my account online, my 2023 taxes don't show up with the rest. How do I sync it?

The desktop app claimed I was logged in the whole time, but it didn't start with any of my prior information. I have many years of returns in one place on the turbotax online portal, I need this years to be added to the same place.

Even though you have to use a login to confirm your use of the Desktop app...it does NOT put any tax files in your old Online account.  The desktop software only saves to your computer system disk, and You should Copy-Paste copies of your final desktop PDF tax files to back up onto a flash drive to keep for the future....or a cloud drive backup.

You could have Transferred from 2022 Online return into the 2023 Desktop program.   Next year you can transfer from this Desktop return into the Online version if you go back to Online.  Ask us here first and we can help.  But you probably noticed the Desktop program has more features than the Online version.

And write down the 16 digit License Code and keep it in a safe place like with your tax return paperwork.  You will need that.  I wouldn't delete the program off your computer for 3 years or more.  You might need to amend or open your return to check something in the future.

And be sure to save both the pdf file and data file ending in .tax2023.  And also save them to a usb flash drive or external storage.  Save the pdf incase you ever need a copy lime to get a loan or something.
