I filed Form 1040A for 2016. This year's return will be the same except I will have a solar tax credit. Which form should I use to file for 2017?

Using TurboTax the software selects the correct tax return form based on your tax data entries.  If you are eligible for the Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit using Form 5695, that requires a Form 1040 to report the credit.
