I filed an extension on my federal taxes with the irs on April 9th and need to input my confirmation number into turbotax. How?

You do not need to enter a confirmation number.  You simply keep it for your records.

The chat bot in turbotax said-

Open TurboTax: Start your TurboTax application.

Navigate to Extensions:  Look for the section related to filing extensions.

Enter Confirmation Number: There should be an option to input you IRS extension confirmation number

Save Changes" Ensure you save any changes made.
