I earned all or part of this income as paid family leave?

Hello

I took a couple of weeks of Paid Family Leave last year. I did not receive a 1099G.

My W-2 lists CAVPDI and PFL in Box 14. But Turbo Tax says it 'didn't recognize the PFL in Box 14' so listed it as 'Other- not on list below'.

Should I select "I earned all or part of this income as paid family leave"?

If the question is referring to the total gross income on the W-2 (not just the portion that was paid family leave), then you would indicate that part of the income was paid family leave.

Usually CA issues a 1099 for the PFL  and it is not listed on the W-2 ...  check to see if you should have gotten one  and ask your employer to explain the box 14 entry ...  getting this incorrect will get you audited by CA ...    https://edd.ca.gov/Unemployment/Get_Tax_Information_(Form_1099G).htm

Hi Critter-3

When i called EDD they said there is no information about me or my ss#

My employer said disability is non-taxable so no statement or tax document is provided.

The CA FTB has determined that PFL benefits are not taxable income under the CA Revenue and Tax Code. But Federal Tax Code does not exclude these benefits from taxable income. So your PFL benefits are subject to federal income tax withholding. PFL benefits you receive and the taxes withheld are in the W-2.
