I dont understand why my Tax Refund was $70 less when it cleared my bank, when the order shows the cost being $34.99.

If you choose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, there is a 34.99 service fee (39.99 for California filers, where it is bundled with Premium Services.)

If you used Deluxe Edition, the Federal preparation fee is 34.99.   So the total would be 34.99 + 34.99 = 69.98, plus possible sales tax.

For future reference, that service fee can be avoided by paying any fees upfront with credit card, debit card, or prepaid debit card one can purchase in a store.
