I don’t understand how my refund was double when they were charging me $119, but when I changed the option to the $69 plan, my refund dropped to half the amount ?

Maybe you had a credit or deduction that requires Premium??    Did you have self-employment income:   the Deluxe version only allows income on Schedule C, you need Premium for self-employed deductions and expenses.
