I don't remember how much stimulus I recieved by check in the first two payments?

I recieved my stimulus in two checks and don't remember how much the first one was and can't find the records.  Is that important?

Yes, that is very important to enter the first 2 amounts you got.  You need to check your bank records, etc.  And you should have received a letter confirming you got each one.  A 1444A and 1444B letter from the IRS.

most people would remember if their EIP was reduced.

Do you know what the full EIP1 and EIP2 payment amounts are?

I can't remember the stimulus amount, can I still file my taxes?  I received debit cards so no records on the bank or can I estimate?

@IU2 You can estimate how much you received for the stimulus payments, as the IRS will have a record of the actual amount and adjust your refund accordingly.

You can check your IRS Online account.   Create one if you have not already.   With an online IRS account, you can:

Access Tax Records

  • View key data from your most recently filed tax return, including your adjusted gross income, and access transcripts
  • View information about your Economic Impact Payments (stimulus checks)
  • View information about your advance Child Tax Credit payments
  • View digital copies of certain notices from the IRS
