I don't have a W2. I only have Social Security income.

It's asking me for a W2 but all I have is Social Security income on a form 1099.

Please clarify your question.

  • Did you have a W-2 last year (in 2023)?
  • Did it carry over into this years tax return?
  • Can you delete it using the trash can?

Please contact us again to provide some additional details.

I don't understand your answer. Isn't a W2 from a job? Please note, I have been retired since 2018. Please also note, I have never done taxes before! My husband always did it. He passed in Dec.

There should be an option to skip the W-2 (you can select the option that says 'We don't have any W-2s'') entries.   You can go directly to the entry screen for your SSA-1099 by searching for SSA-1099, or using the link in this TurboTax FAQ.

I am sorry for your loss.
