I do not need to file state taxes

I do not need to file state taxes but since I went through the process of checking whether I did or not, it is requiring me to file my state return by mail even though I shouldn't have to file. There is no option to delete the state return. Do I need to file this to get my federal return or can I just ignore it and not file it at all?

" Do I need to file this to get my federal return or can I just ignore it and not file it at all?"

You can ignore it and not file it at all since Florida does not have an individual income tax. You will not be able to delete the return if you registered your free version of TurboTax so, again, simply ignore the Florida return.

It will not give you an option to not file, since most people are required. You would just need to e-file the federal and select paper for the state and just never send it in if your not required.
