I didn’t work this year but just had a baby in December. Can I file and get a tax return for my baby?

For 2021 only the answer is yes however if you didn't work who supported you ?   Can they claim you and the baby as dependents ?

If you do file a tax return, when TurboTax asks how many months the child lived with you, be sure to select "the whole year." That's the correct answer for a baby that was born during the year.

My boyfriend and I live together and he’s also the father to our baby. We aren’t married so I wasn’t sure who would claim the baby.

Did you live together all of 2021? If so, boyfriend can file as Head of Household, claiming both of you. Only one parent can claim the child; You would be 'Other' for relationship on return. Would be a bad idea for You to file with zero income when other parent has some ...
