I did not get my portion of the stimulus bill (thanks turbotax), but my wife did. Is this because I had to file for injured spouse? It's not fair that I am without aid

My wife got her portion, but I was advised on the IRS website that there was no information for mine. It's ridiculous, as I just started working, and needed this money to take care of some bills

Most taxpayers who filed as Injured Spouse are seeing payments in two separate installments.  However, this won't be the case for all taxpayers.

It may be necessary for you to claim your portion of the payment when you file your 2020 tax return.

You will claim the Recovery Rebate Credit in TurboTax by answering the two questions about the stimulus payments that will appear at the end of the TurboTax interview.

The questions are in the section Federal Review.  Once the information is entered you will see your refund increase or balance due decrease, and TurboTax will enter the amount of the credit on Line 30 of Form 1040 for you.

The IRS is distributing payments through January 15, 2021.  Please wait until after this date to submit your tax return so that you will be filing the most accurate return possible.
