I did not file 2017 taxes and put "0" for 2017 AGI value my taxes continue to be rejected due to "incorrect 2017 AGI." Is there an option besides mail/what should I do?

I am new to filing taxes. In 2016 I filed through tubrotax. In 2017, I was not working so I did not file. When filing my 2018 taxes, my federal was rejected due to "incorrect 2017 AGI." Following the instructions I entered "0" now twice for that value and it continues to be rejected due to being the incorrect number. What options do I have from here? I know I can mail my taxes but I am worried something else is wrong for me to get this rejection without having filed taxes in 2017 and the system thinking I had? If I mail in my return, how will I know that this confusion won't impact my refund/get rejected again?
