If you made a slight typo it won't have an effect on the deposit of your refund (if your return was accepted). You could always call the IRS at 1800-829-1040 to notify them or complete IRS Form 8822 (Change of Address Form). This would be necessary since when you file, your new address in the IRS system will be with the wrong address.

Thank you for your reply. I've chosen direct deposit method for the tax refund. And also my tax return was accepted. My concern is, can typo in current mailing address field cause a tax return rejection? Thanks)
If your return was accepted then you are fine. But you should complete the change of address form so that the IRS has the correct address.
Should I send that form electronically or by mail? Can that delay the potential date of the tax refund or can I do it later, after I get back the return?
