I completed step 3 and said my Federal and State taxes were filed successfully. But it shows on this page both are pending

It can take up to a few days for the IRS and state to acknowledge your e-filed returns.  This is normal and as long as you've filed them prior to the filing deadline, they'll be considered timely filed.

Pending means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. Please see the link below for more information:
