As long as you haven't paid your TurboTax fees yet, you can remove the Max benefits.

Please follow the instructions below:

  1. Select File on the left.
  2. Continue until you get to Step 1 Review your order, then select Start.
  3. When you get to your order summary, scroll down to Max Benefits, click on Remove at the bottom of the section.
  4. On the following screen, select Remove MAX to confirm you want to remove those benefits.

That will remove the Max Benefits and adjust your total fees.

This was a huge waste of money!! Don't do it! I never get answers or help!

Oh! And my refund has now been delayed weeks!!! Grrr!! All because they want me to find value and use the Max benefits. However, they should jump in with out requests.. since I paid for it!

I want the audit protection of MAX, but not the ID protection. If I don't sign off to share my info for the ID protection, will I lose audit protection?

No. Each of those features is separate and declining one does not affect the other.
