I cant E-file my state taxes. and you still want to charge me 40 dollars, how do I delete that part, not going to pay 40 dollars for something that you can not do

how do I change charges for state taxes? I can not file with your site. so I should not have to pay forty dollars for service of it

Fees for online TurboTax are for using the software---the fee is the same whether you e-file the return or mail it in an envelope.   You are paying to use software to prepare your return instead of sitting down with paper forms, a calculator and an instruction book.

 

But if you want to delete the state return and prepare it by hand you can get the forms from your state and do that for free.

I paid for the CA state return when I purchased my Federal TurboTax.  I was asked "Do you want to pay $25.00 to e-file?"   I said "Yes"

 

Now, if you cannot e-file it, will the $25 be returned?   (I am able to prepare the return w/o paying $25.  It specifically said "to e-file".   If you cannot complete the job, the money should be returned.  I am still waiting to see if my Federal return goes through (I entered the wrong AGI at first)

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”

@princessofnotenough   Currently there is a problem Efiling state in the Desktop program.  Just wait.  It's scheduled to be fixed on March 19.  Please sign up on this Desktop state efile error FAQ

But anyway you can not efile state until federal has been Accepted.  For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program.  Open your return and go up to menu item

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
