I can't import tax info from Td Ameritrade or Fidelity. I get the following message. This import was unsuccessful. Internal server error.

Try this to see if this will allow you to import:

  • Try to log completely out of Turbo Tax.
  • Then, clear your cache and cookies within your browser and completely close out of it.  I have included the Help Articles below if you need assistance with clearing cache or cookies.
  • Re-open the browser and log back into Turbo Tax and see if this fixes the situation.  You can also try a different browser as well or "incognito mode".

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please reach back out here in the thread and someone will follow up with the next steps.

Having the same internal server error importing from Fidelity, using the desktop version of 2021 premier.  There are corrected 1099 at fidelity.  Have tried to clear cache and delete history but this did not resolve issue.  What are the next steps?

Please try the following steps to see if this will allow you to upload your 1099.

First, try the information in this Help Article for how to import a 1099.

If those steps do not work, try this Help Article on how to fix a 1099 import.  The steps show information for Schwab but this is for example purposes.

One workaround is attempting to upload the form under the different Fidelity accounts listed in the drop-down when attempting to upload 1099.

Once you have tried each of those, another workaround is to go to the Fidelity website, change your Fidelity online password, then log back into Fidelity to review the 1099s that are available.  Exit Turbotax, log back into Turbotax, and retry the process.
