I can't find where my overpayment from 2021 taxes is being applied to my tax payment in 2022. Where is this showing?

I applied a chunk of my 2021 refund to my 2022 tax payments, but I don't see it anywhere in turbotax.  How do I make sure I get credit for those taxes that should have been applied?

It can be found or entered in Other Income Taxes. There is a line for entering a 2021 refund applied to your 2022 federal taxes.

You have to enter your 2021 Refund applied as an overpayment into TurboTax. To enter the payment, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. Open or continue to your return if you don't already have it open.
  3. Tap the menu icon.
  4. Under the Federal Taxes option, tap Other Tax Situations.
  5. Then, tap on Additional Tax Payments
  6. Enter the amount of the overpayment that was applied.

You can also see it on line 26 of form 1040. It is added to any estimated taxes paid on that line.

This is a carryover from last years turbotax return and it specifically says not to enter in estimated tax payments. I’d just like to see it somewhere and it appears I could be double counting if I try to enter it.

it's on line 26 of the 2022 1040 but that also includes any estimated tax payments you made for that year.
