When you use TurboTax you do not fill in Form 1040 yourself. You go through the questions in TurboTax and enter your information. TurboTax will fill out Form 1040 for you.

Did you use the Desktop program installed on your computer before? Although you can enter directly into the forms in the Desktop program you should always use the Turbo Tax interview steps to enter your income and deductions. You enter from your W2 and any 1099 forms you get. If you enter directly on the forms you might not be able to efile and will void the guarantee.
