I can not e file because it is showing the wrong state at the end of filing it should show “TX” but it shows “IN”

It’s under a 1099 nec and it won’t let me file because a state abbreviation is wrong but when I go back to change it in the form it won’t keep the correct abbreviation at the end.

Are you able to file if you remove the IRS form 1099-NEC?  What kind of income is the IRS form 1099-NEC reporting?  I would expect it to report self-employment income in a self-employment activity.

If that is the case, in TurboTax Premium Online,

  1. Report the IRS form 1099-NEC income within the self-employment activity, and
  2. Remove the IRS form 1099-NEC income.

In TurboTax Premium Online, follow these steps:

  • Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
  • Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income.
  • Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Self-employment.
  • Click to the right of Self-employment income and expenses.
  • At the screen Your 2024 self-employed work summary, click Edit.
  • Click the pencil icon to the right of Income.
  • Select Add another row and report the amount of the IRS form 1099-NEC income.
