I am trying to add in my mileage that I drive to school each day. Also, with my dependent my federal income is only showing $1,000 and my LA refund is $3. HELP PLEASE!

Commuting from home to work or to school is a personal commuting expense and it is not deductible.

Commuting to school or work is not  deductible.  You do not say how much you earned, but if you are referring to getting earned income credit, it is based on the income you got from working.  If you earned a low amount then your EIC would also be low.
