I am planning to purchase a business in California. The transaction is only for the goodwill and no goods are purchased through this purchased.

Do I need to pay sales tax for purchasing a restaurant business?
We are not purchasing any equipments as it's included in the rent.

This is in California - Alameda county, Newark city

Seek professional assistance in CA for that answer ... this forum only handles income tax issues.
