I am on F1 Visa and considered a resident alien now. I have unearned income, need to file form 8615. Can international student file form 8615?

It seems that I need to file form 8615 because I am a full-time student, and have unearned income more than $2100. But for that form, it requires information from parents, my parents live in another country and have no SSN. How can I handle this issue?

You will need to leave the  SSN blank, enter zeros for the parent's income and then print the tax return and write NRA (Non-Resident Alien) in the SSN box and mail the tax return - you will not be able to e-file.  Just choose that you will mail the return and ignore the SSN error.

Thank you for the answer. Can I still e-file the rest of my documents? Or they all have to be mailed?
