I am not sure if I claim head of household. I live in a house with my mother, but she does not claim me or my daughter. Do we both file head of household then?

I did pay half of the expensive as well.

To claim HOH you must pay more than half the total upkeep of the household *and* had a related person that you can claim as a dependent. Only one person in a household can pay more than half.

If your mother owns the home then then she is supplying the home, not you.

Use worksheet 2-1 to determine if you qualify.
