I am not getting any help with the live chat. where do we go to update the parent info for the capital gains section?

I have deleted the sale of the stock and re-entered it. That does not work.

If you are using TurboTax Online, there is no method to edit the financial institution after the information has been entered.  You will need to delete it in order to change the financial institution's name.

 

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, then:

  • Exit the Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds section of your return
  • Go back into that section and click Edit beside the investment account that needs to be changed
  • Check the box showing that you need to change the name
  • Make the necessary change, and then click Continue
