I am inputting my 1099-k from Uber. How do I input this Information?

All that pops up is "description" and "income." It's not asking for box numbers or anything.

The description is Uber 1099-K and the amount/income is the total of gross receipts received.   It goes under General/Additional/Other Self-Employment income not reported on a 1099-MISC.  You do not enter each box of a 1099-K, only the total gross receipts or sales.

  • Click Business or Self-Employment, then Continue
  • How do you want to enter your business income?, then I'll choose what I work on
  • Business Income and Expenses, click Start/Update
  • Let's confirm your business info, Continue
  • Enter profile info if not done already
  • Your Business page
  • Go to Business Income - Start
  • General Income (Additional or Other SE Income), click Start
  • Type in your description,  click Continue

This seems clear enough, but I have a separate business.  I started driving for Uber this past year, and that is separate from my business.  Is there another place to put this 1099-K information?

If you have a driving business and another separate business, you will create 2 separate Schedule Cs; one for each business  (two business profiles).   If you start a new thread with a new question regarding multiple businesses, you will get a detailed answer if needed...

Thanks.  While I was waiting, I did set up a separate Schedule C, but I still have some questions, so I'll start a new thread as suggested.
