I am in FL and IRS is waiving penalties. However, Turbotax is adding my penalties to the taxes that I owe. How do I remove this?

I posted this question twice and I am being told not to submit a waiver of penalty and that the IRS will automatically deduct this based on my zipcode. However, Turbotax is not automatically deducting this. What should I do? How do I remove the penalty without submitting a waiver?

Choose to not apply the penalty and let the IRS "bill you later". The IRS will waive the penalty automatically based on your zip code. Should an error occur on their part, a simple letter will remedy the situation.  There is no tax form to attach or box to check (as of now, 4/15/25). Note that the relief is not for all four quarters of 2024, but for 2024 quarterly estimated tax payments normally due on January 15, 2025, and 2025 estimated tax payments normally due on April 15, 2025.

  1. Navigate to Federal > Other Tax Situations > Additional Tax Payments > Underpayment Penalties > Start or Revisit
  2. Continue through the questions until you arrive at the screen Let the IRS Bill Me Later, and you can make your selection.
