I am helping my stepson file his taxes. Last year he had a CPA file it and it was rejected due to wrong SSN, can that be corrected through turbotax while filing this year

or will it need to be corrected through the CPA he used, before we file this years?

No, each year is looked at separately.  He can file for 2024 now, then go back and re-file 2023 to correct the SSN.

He can do this either through the CPA that originally filed for him, or he could download TurboTax Desktop for 2023 and prepare and file his 2023 return.
