I am filing single. I want to take the standard deduction amount of $12,000. but turbo tax is putting in $7580. should I override it?

If you checked the box that someone can claim you, the standard deduction is your earned income plus $350.  If this is not your situation, go back to your personal information and make sure the box is not checked.
