I am filing a personal 1040 for 2017 and just received a 1099-K from PayPal for some eBay sales of $1,400. Just a hobby not a business.

I reviewed the requirements for filing as a business but they do not apply.  I have not received anything from PayPal in past years.  I occasionally sell things (and buy as well) but it is certainly not a business.

There is a lot that goes into selling on eBay, and not knowing if you had this as a business or hobby, I thought it best for you to read the TurboTax Taxes and e-bay sellers article for you to determine the one you were for 2017.  If a hobby, you will not have to do anything different for all the other years you filed.  However, if a business you will need to file using TurboTax Self-Employed and the steps to enter the 1099-K is below in TurboTax FAQ.
